Rockcote Armour Plus is a 100% acrylic heavy duty durable coating, providing long term external protection for all masonry surfaces. Armour Plus can also be applied as a final finish over Rockcote Texture Coatings for added durability, weather protection, and resistance to dirt pick-up, providing an attractive low sheen finish. Rockcote Armour Plus is also suitable for walls in heavy wear areas such as hallways, stairwells or offices, where a hard wearing cleanable finish is required. PERFORMANCE & PROPERTIESAdhesionRockcote Armour Plus exhibits excellent adhesion to most common masonry building materials if correct surface preparation is carried out in accordance with specifications. DurabilityArmour Plus is impact resistant, scuff resistant, cleanable and can resist extremes of weather and attack from fungi and mould. Rockcote Armour Plus provides a water repellent finish that is resistant to micro-cracking caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the substrate. Armour Plus also remains vapour permeable, allowing the walls to “breathe”. Colours AvailableRockcote Armour Plus can be tinted to a wide range of colours from soft natural tones to vibrant colours. Light-fastness of chosen exterior colours must be confirmed before ordering. LimitationsRockcote Armour Plus is not recommended for floors, and is not suitable for areas that will be totally submerged in water. Surface PreparationAll surfaces should be clean and free from loose material such as drummy sections and flaking paint. Powdery surfaces should not be painted with Rockcote Armour Plus. Glossy surfaces should be lightly sanded and washed clean. Dirty surfaces should be washed down with warm water mixed with detergent and flushed with clean water Mould should removed by cleaning and surfaces treated with a proprietary surface sanitiser with residual action. Only dry surfaces should be painted. Fill cracks and other surface imperfections with suitable Rockcote patching compounds. Substrates must contain less than 15% Wood-Moisture-Equivalent (%WME) before painting. Rockcote Cement based renders can be coated 48 hours after drying. Other new cementitious surfaces should not be coated until 30 days old. APPLICATIONRockcote Armour Plus is applied to the properly prepared substrate using brush, roller or airless spray equipment. For Airless Spray use 0.021” to 0.025 “ tips. Two coats should be applied, allowing at least 4 hours drying time between coats. For some bright colours tinted from Ultra Deep Base, (unless applied over a similar colour background) a three coat application may be required to achieve the desired opacity. Proper Disposal of excess & waste product Spilt material must be absorbed with sand/sawdust and lifted for proper disposal. Spilled product must not be allowed to run into drains or open bodies of water. Residual small amounts of leftover paint on brushes and rollers should be wiped on to old newspaper and allowed to dry, rather than being washed down the sink. Dispose of in accordance with local council regulations. Rockcote Armour Plus is suitable for disposal through the RA Industries Reclaimer Portable Paint Wash Recycling System.
