Bright colours? Tint your primer!

Bright colours? Tint your primer!

When using any paint that requires a primer, it is important to consider the desired finish colour during preparation. If your desired finish colour is a bright colour, the primer you are using should be tinted to the same finish colour.

Using a tinted primer prevents ‘show through’ of a white or grey primer underneath the painted finish. It will also prevent the need for more than two coats of paint to achieve the desired brightness of colour.

See the example in the picture above, which shows the difference in finish colour depending on the tint colour of the primer.
