Business Management for Trade Contractors Workshops

This program is appropriate for a person working in the Queensland Construction Industry seeking to gain a Trade Contractor Licence from the Queensland Building and Construction Commission.

The two-day workshop is designed to align with the Unit of Competency BSBSMB401A - Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business.

Students will have their skills and knowledge assessed against the elements of competency from the unit and will be required to complete a number of assessment tasks throughout the workshop.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no mandatory requirements, however candidates should have a minimum two years current industry experience in the construction industry or management role. Students should be familiar with industry terminology.

What are the Outcomes?

Once assessment has been successfully completed students will receive a Statement of Attainment for BSBSMB401A - Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business. This Unit of Competency meets the managerial requirements for QBCC Trade Contractor Licence

How much does this program cost?

Cost for the two-day workshop and RPL is $295.00 (includes tea/coffee, light refreshments). Payment is required in full prior to commencement. Refunds will not be granted for cancellations made less than two business days prior to Workshop, or once you have commenced. Payment may be made by direct debit, or cheque/cash on the day. EFTPOS or credit card facilities are not available.

What do I need to bring?

Participants need to bring a laptop or tablet, as you are required to source information from the internet. WIFI is available onsite. You need to bring current photo ID, and your Unique Student Identifier Code. ASFT can apply for your USI if you do not already have one.

How do we recognise your skills?

Prior to enrolment we are able to assess your skills via Credit Transfer or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). If you have completed an accredited program through another training provider you may be eligible to receive a Credit Transfer. If you can demonstrate industry/management experience you may be eligible to receive Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for the Unit. Contact ASFT for more information.
