Exposure Testing on Sandcote HYDRATECH

Exposure Testing on Sandcote HYDRATECH

ROCKCOTE endeavours to ensure that our products hold up to harsh Australian conditions and provide the highest quality to our customers.

Recently, ROCKCOTE sent samples of Sandcote HYDRATECH (formerly known as Sandcote HydroGuard) to get Accelerated Weather Tested, also known as Exposure Testing. This exposes the sample to condensation and ultra violet for extended periods of time to identify if any colour fading of the product would occur over time.

The ROCKCOTE Research/Re-seek and Development team applied Sandcote HYDRATECH to samples. They kept two versions of the sample in the lab as a control sample, and sent the other to be Accelerated Weather Tested.

The most popular tint was chosen for the Sandcote HydroGuard samples. This tint was Lamp Black (B), and the maximum load for this tint was used.

The product sample was exposed to the equivalent of 1510.4 hours (more than 62 days of constant daylight (ultra violet)), and 732.3 hours (30.5 days of constant rain (condensation)).

The harsh conditions of the exposure testing are designed to highlight any potential degradation in colour or integrity of the coating, and the Sandcote HydroGuard samples excelled in these tests.

At ROCKCOTE we pride ourselves on providing high quality products to the market and consistently work on testing and improving our products to ensure they remain high quality. Sandcote HYDRATECH is one of our best-selling products from our Coloured Render range, and as can be seen by this test, remains colour fast for extended periods of time.

Warranties of up to 15 years are available for Sandcote HYDRATECH when used as part of a full ROCKCOTE System (refer to the ROCKCOTE Systems Guide for more information).
