This 12-year-old Sunshine Coast home has undergone an extensive refurbishment ahead of being placed on the market for sale.

A repaint with ROCKCOTE Armour, along with some maintenance and landscaping, have modernised the look of the home and brought the style into line with upmarket properties in the Peregian Springs area.

The existing exterior render was showing some signs of cracking and crazing; the paint over the render was worn down and no longer providing adequate protection for the rendered surface.

Tim Maxwell and his team from Eco Coating Systems Sunshine Coast conducted an assessment of the rendered walls. After a wash down, a small number of major cracks were properly repaired, and ROCKCOTE Patch & Prep applied to correct minor cracking in preparation for the exterior membrane system.

Two coats of ROCKCOTE Armour membrane paint were applied to the entire exterior.

Armour ideal to repaint a rendered home

Tim said that Armour was ideal for rendered homes showing signs of hairline cracking in the render.

"Armour membrane paint has the elasticity required to bridge those hairline cracks and provide long term weather protection for the building,” Tim said.

The Armour has not altered the look or feel of the existing textured render, simply brought it back to life with a long-lasting protective topcoat. A contemporary colour scheme of Teahouse Grey, Surfmist and Shale Grey gives the property a look more fitting with its coastal location.

The Eco Coating Systems team updated the front fence, applying ROCKCOTE QuickRender PM100 to create a more level surface and two coats of ROCKCOTE Armour Flex membrane. This system offers a highly flexible coating that will help the surface withstand minor movement of the wall over time.

Tim and his team also washed down the roof, completed a full interior repaint, cleaned down and resurfaced the driveway, epoxy flake garage floor, timber decking, pavers/stone and restored the front door and entry area.

The before and after photos speak for themselves with the clients saying it has exceeded their expectations.

The result is a quality refurbishment with a low maintenance exterior render and paint system, and contemporary styling consistent with newer homes in the Peregian Springs area.
