ROCKCOTE pure acrylic coloured renders offer a timeless and beautiful quality that painted surfaces simply cannot achieve.
Recreate the casual elegance of a southern European villa, the drama and colour of the Americas, a sophisticated contemporary finish or a deliberately rustic aesthetic with high performance finishes available in a vast range of colours.
The advantage of coloured render is the depth of colour permeates the entire render layer maintaining a rich, full colour.
ROCKCOTE Coloured Renders offer a tough, flexible and water resistant finish with long-term exterior protection, designed for Australian conditions.
With the inclusion of powerful mould and fungus inhibitors and up to 20 times thicker than a standard paint, ROCKCOTE Coloured Renders deliver a distinctive and durable finish without the need for painting.
For added durability and lower maintenance overcoat with a ROCKCOTE Protective Finish – ROCKCOTE Armour/Amour Flex, ROCKCOTE Repel or ROCKCOTE Clearcote - (refer to the TDS for each product for full details).
Consider LRV when choosing colour
When using ROCKCOTE Coloured Render over EPS (polystyrene cladding) or fibre cement sheet, the LRV or Light Reflectance Value of the colour must be considered.
LRV is a measure of how much light is reflected by a surface of a colour on a black (0%) to white (100%) basis – the lighter the colour, the higher the LRV.
Colours with low LRV (generally darker colours) absorb light energy and convert it to heat. If the heat cannot dissipate, the coating heats to high temperatures. This can break down the coating over a shorter time span. It can also lead to extra thermal expansion in fibre cement and EPS which can create peaking or cracking at joints, and cause beads to break away from the render at joints.
ROCKCOTE does not recommend the use of Coloured Renders tinted to colours with an LRV of less than 40% over polystyrene or fibre cement cladding.
